Douglas J. Carlon, M.D., F.A.C.S.Board Certified Vascular Surgeon

Dr. Carlon received his medical doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado. He then completed a residency in general surgery at the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency based at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph Medical Center and the Carl T. Hayden Veteran’s Administration Medical Center. Following this, Dr. Carlon received further subspecialty fellowship training in peripheral vascular surgery at Saint Louis University in Saint Louis Missouri with particular emphasis on less invasive endovascular techniques.

Dr. Carlon holds certification from the American Board of Surgery in both General and Peripheral Vascular Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of both regional and international vascular surgical societies.

Dr. Carlon is a staff/attending surgeon at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital, Banner Desert, Banner Estrella Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center. He is on the residency teaching faculty at these institutions and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery for the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Dr Carlon gives regular lectures to surgical trainees and medical students on a range of vascular topics including peripheral arterial occlusive disease, vascular trauma and venous disorders. He has additional industry certification in Endovenous Laser Vein Treatment, Carotid Artery Stenting and Stent-Graft Treatment of Abdominal and thoracic Aortic Aneurysms.

Dr. Carlon has lived in Phoenix for 12 years and is married with three daughters.
